Streaks & Momentum

The habit that makes everything else work.

Spaced repetition only works if you show up consistently. Kraemon's streak system makes that easier — one session a day, every day, is all it takes to keep the chain alive.

Why consistency beats intensity

One 3-hour cramming session the night before an exam is far less effective than 30 minutes a day for two weeks. This is one of the most replicated findings in learning science, and it's the whole reason spaced repetition exists.

Streaks in Kraemon aren't about gamification for its own sake — they're a direct proxy for the behaviour that actually produces results. A long streak means the algorithm has had enough data points to optimise your review schedule properly.

Life happens, so the streak isn't all-or-nothing. Miss a single day and nothing breaks. Miss more than that after passing a milestone — 7, 14, 30, 50 or 100 days — and the streak protects that milestone rather than dropping to zero: come back within 14 days and you resume from there, not from scratch.

  • Streak increments after each completed session
  • Current streak shown prominently on the dashboard
  • Calendar view shows your consistency over months
  • One missed day is always forgiven, no questions asked
  • Milestones (7/14/30/50/100 days) are protected for 14 days

See your consistency over time

The streak calendar shows every day you've studied across the past months. Unlike a plain number, the calendar makes your pattern visible — you can see exactly where you skipped, where you pushed through, and how your habit is building.

This isn't about shame when you miss a day. It's about making progress tangible. When you can see a solid block of green squares, you have visual proof that you're doing the work.
